Why do you want to lose weight (or change your diet)?

The number one reason I want to lose weight is to be able to buy clothes that fit. I have a terrible time buying clothes when I have even a little extra fat on me because I am so short. Any pants always end up being about a foot too long with an extra six to eight inches in the waist if I want to get them over my big fat hips. I don't have a specific size that I am targetting, my goal is simply to fit into some old jeans that I saved; when I could wear those jeans it was much easier for me to buy clothes. Now I really have to buy capris if I want to have any hope of my pants fitting me. I refuse to wear elastic waistbands, by the way. I suppose that would be one solution to my little waist-to-hip-ratio-dilemma, but it's a path I refuse to go down.

In terms of weight, my goal there is also a little bit hazy. I am 4'11", and I currently weigh 130.5 pounds. I know that may not sound like much to a lot of people, but it puts me at 26.4 BMI, or well into the overweight range. I think I would like to weigh 110, but if I get that small and my pants still don't fit I will need to lose a little bit more. When I was at my thinnest and clothes were easy to buy, I didn't own a scale, so I really don't know how much I weighed then. I estimate I was 104, but who knows?

Interested in your BMI? Here's a link to the CDC BMI calculator...
http://www.cdc.gov/healthyweight/assessing/bmi/adult_bmi/english_bmi_calculator/bmi_calculator.html

It says a healthy weight for my 4'11" frame is 92 to 123. So I guess I could lose seven pounds and have a healthy BMI, but I know I still wouldn't be able to find pants that fit, so that's why I don't use that as my determinor.

Anyway, enough about me. Why do you want to lose weight? :)
